Established in Love & Family

There exists within every human heart a profound longing – to be truly seen, genuinely known, and to belong. This yearning is not a weakness or deficiency; it is intentional design, woven into our very being by our Creator.

From the beginning, God established the family, not merely as a biological arrangement, but as a spiritual foundation. Family was created to be a place of growth, challenge, flourishing, and above all, love.

This month at Solid Rock Derby, we are exploring what it means to be “Established in Love & Family.” This is more than a theme for discussion; it is a call to transformation and community.

Rooted in Love, Not Performance

In a culture where love is often contingent upon achievement and withdrawn in the face of failure, God invites us into a deeper reality. His love is not based on what we accomplish, it flows from who He is.

To be established in God’s love means we can:

  • Rest in His grace rather than striving for approval
  • Receive freely rather than performing endlessly
  • Experience healing rather than remaining in hiding

God’s love is unwavering, unconditional, and inexhaustible.

The Church as Spiritual Family

The Church transcends architecture and programs, it is a family. When we say “Welcome home” at Solid Rock, we mean it wholeheartedly. Within the spiritual family of God, we discover:

  • A place of true belonging
  • Relationships that sharpen us in love and truth
  • A community that nurtures faith across generations
  • Support in carrying one another’s burdens
  • Joy in celebrating victories together

At Solid Rock, we are cultivating a culture where isolation gives way to connection, because genuine strength is forged in community.

Living as the Established

1. Love Without Limits
Love serves as our foundation, not merely an emotion, but a deliberate choice. We extend forgiveness readily, serve selflessly, and celebrate one another’s successes.

2. Pursue Unity
We are called to fight for family, not against one another. We intentionally cultivate peace, honour, and kindness at the centre of every relationship.

3. Cultivate Deep Roots
Spiritual families flourish through consistency. In our marriages, friendships, and walk with God, we commit to depth over novelty. We plant deep roots and grow strong.

4. Lead Through Service
Whether in our homes or ministries, biblical leadership is characterised by care, not control. Authentic leaders invest in building others up.
